Ever since I was a child, I felt something beneath the surface of everyday life. At five years old, I didn’t yet have words for it, but I could sense energy—the emotions of others, their silent thoughts, the way a room shifted depending on my behaviour. I quickly learned that being "the good girl" kept me safe—that hiding parts of myself was the cost of acceptance.

Like so many women, I became what was expected of me.

​

I was raised in a non-spiritual household, where the closest thing to faith was a Ukrainian Catholic church that never truly resonated. As I grew older, I rejected anything that seemed "woo-woo" and embraced intellectualism instead. Political Science. Philosophy. Law school dreams. A path toward prestige, stability, and external success.

But disconnection has a cost.

In my final year of university, a pivotal moment shattered my carefully built identity. I stumbled into yoga, a practice I once saw as a trendy fitness fad, and for the first time, I felt energy moving through me. It was visceral. The collective vibration of an AUM at the end of class hit me like a wave of truth. Something inside me woke up.

I started seeking—first through philosophy, then spirituality, then magic.

Sitting at my 9-5, corporate not-for-profit desk job, I took a leap of faith and signed up for a yoga teacher training, unknowingly stepping onto a path that would completely change my life. That same year, my marriage crumbled, my finances fell apart, and I found myself at rock bottom—alone, broke, and completely unmoored. So I did something that any (in)sane 24 year old divorcee would have done.

I booked a one-way ticket to Maui.

​

There, in a hostel, surrounded by seekers and dreamers, I was free for the first time. I started learning tarot, connected with Spirit (it's pretty easy to do in Maui) and let my hair grow wild and curly. I discovered a version of myself I had never met—the one who was unapologetically magic. The people around me seemed to be drawn to me and started asking for readings and healings. I had no idea what I was doing. 
 

That should have been the moment I fully stepped into my power—but healing isn’t linear.

​

I returned home and built a new life. I became a yoga teacher, a space holder, a leader. I found love again, had children, and started stepping into my power. But just as I was reclaiming my magic, life threw another initiation my way.

​

COVID hit.

​

I was home with a baby and a newborn, completely drowning in isolation and exhaustion. I slipped into depression, anxiety, and overwhelm. And then, on my daughter’s first birthday, I woke up to the room spinning.

I was bedridden with vertigo for seven days—and in that tortured stillness, I met myself again.

​

On the seventh day, I crawled from my bed to my altar, lit a candle, and asked Spirit for help. The moment I did, I felt what I can only describe as wings surround me—as if the Universe was holding me in that moment of vulnerability.

​

And everything changed.

I took my power back.
I took control of my finances, my healing, and my future.
I reclaimed my identity as a witch, a guide, a spiritual mentor.

For the first time, I stopped hiding.

​

I came out publicly as a witch, and to my surprise, the world didn’t end. In fact, it felt like a massive weight had been lifted.

​

I realized that I had spent my entire life playing roles that weren’t mine. And I vowed to never do it again.

​
